Black ops game joining problem?

when i try to join my friends lobby in black ops it say game session unavailable but he is still in the lobby waiting and it does that same thing to him when he trys to join me from invite or the friends list thing but it lets us join a lobby not hosted by one of us WHATS UP!??!?!?!?!?!?
