Is this a sign of labor coming soon?

so im 40 weeks and 6 days pregnant, iv had no dilation, no effacement for weeks. I dont even know what a contraction feels like. my baby has dropped a couple weeks back and the doctor said that it was +2 or something? i have felt next to no pressure down there, i only know there is pressure do to the fact i have to go to the bathroom all the time. i feel a little dishearted knowing that my due date is has come and gone... i just really want to know the gender of my baby and i look forward to being able to hold him or her... they couldnt tell the sex because of the position the baby was in and they wont do another ultrasound unless there is a medical reason... On the plus side iv had a very easy pregnancy, but i feel that i am not greatful because i keep growing more and more depressed... i lost my mucus plug yesterday in the giant globs (yuck) but some people say that there could still be weeks left before labor... is anyone going through this, or has anyone been through this before? Id love to hear all of your pregnancy storys. :)
