Anti-gay Christians, what are your opinions on the "It Gets Better" project?

My family, except for me, is homophobic so they can't stand to see the ad on TV. I don't fully understand their behavior, seeing as they can't really offer an alternative to the bullying (unless "have a brainwashing sessions in a seedy clinic" counts as an alternative).
