When should i go in for my second tattoo session?

i went in yesterday for a big chest piece i was going in there thinking it could get it done in one but i only got done with the sketch he said that was good cause its a big piece i wanna go tomorrow since i dont have work on monday but my chest still feels beat up when should i go and when did you go back for your second session
