39 weeks pregnant with mucus plug or bloody show falling out?

I was having lite contractions and had to go to the bathroom and when I wiped there was a thick snot like looking glob and it was bloody it was followed with a couple contractions. But it was pretty large so I dont know what or which one it was? How soon should labor start? Thanks!
