Do you get more tanned if you spray water all over you during a tanning session?

I am very white. I live in Iceland which has maybe 4-5 good months a year but I never get tanned. If I tan for over 2 hours I still get no tan or just a little. So I was wondering, does it help if you spray water over you and tan?
